Chili's Information Technology (IT) Department, led by Christopher Levey, is charged with maintaining and supporting the technology and computer infrastructure used by all departments within the Town. The infrastructure includes computers and peripheral devices, the computer network, software, A/V meeting room and court room equipment, and the telephone system.
The technology infrastructure spreads from the Town Hall at 3333 Chili Avenue to three remote locations (Community Center, Court/Senior Center Complex, and Department of Public Works). We use fiber optics to connect most of our facilities; and we are in the process of deploying fiber optics to the last remaining site. The Town network is made up of more than 75 computers and seven servers, and a telecommunications network of more than 100 nodes.
Chris doesn't manage this alone. He is assisted by Karen Paxon, IT Clerk whose primary responsibilities include Help Desk support, website updating, end-user training, and document management functions. Karen also prepares workstations for deployment to end-users by configuring the PC's and installing the software needed by the user.
