Highway Department

The Chili Highway Department is responsible for highway construction and maintenance, sidewalk construction, and maintenance and snow and ice control. The Highway crews repair and maintain approximately 115 miles of town roads, storm sewers and drainage systems throughout the Town.
During the winter months, snow and ice control operations are performed on more than 300 lane miles of State, County and Town roads. Over 100 vehicles and pieces of equipment are kept in top working order to handle the department's many responsibilities. In addition to the main functions, the Town Highway Department also collects dead animals from Town and County roads, provides and maintains traffic signage for Town roads, mows road right-of-way, and periodically sweeps the roads surface clean. The Highway Department maintains a staff on duty 24/7 during the November 15 to April 1 time frame to respond to changing winter conditions.

Public Works Department

The Chili Public Works Department is responsible for yard debris collection, brush pickup, metal pickup and any drainage related work that falls outside of the limits of the roadway right of way. The department also maintains Town facilities like the Town Hall, Community and Recreation Center, Senior Center and Court Offices. The Public Works Department, in conjunction with the Highway Department is responsible for the loose leaf pickup program which runs from late September to mid December. The Public Works Department also maintains a vast network of drainage channels, rear yard drainage systems and detention/retention ponds.

The Chili Parks Department

The Town of Chili Parks Department serves to provide and maintain high quality parks, recreation facilities, trails, and open spaces that meet the full range of passive and active recreation needs of Town residents. Some of these areas include Union Station Park, Chili Nature Center and Hubbard Park.

The Parks Department is also responsible for the mowing and maintenance of the open spaces around Town-owned facilities like the Town Hall and Community Center and for the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks, stairs, entrances, driveways and parking lots of our facilities.
