The Town of Chili was established in 1822, created by annexing part of the Town of Riga.

As of 2014, Chili’s population is 28,614 people. Since 2000 it has had a population growth of 4.11%. The median home cost in Chili is $98,700.  Compared to the rest of the country, Chili’s cost of living is 12.60% lower than the US average.

Communities and Locations:

  • Chili Center – The center of town government and the most urbanized portion of the town.
  • North Chili – A hamlet in the northwest part of the town and home of Roberts Wesleyan College.
  • South Chili – Rural area in Chili running along the New York State Thruway.
  • West Chili – Small community north of Black Creek Park.
