Job Title: Secretary to the Commissioner of Public Works/Highway Superintendent, Exempt

Distinguishing features of the position: This is a full-time position with the Highway, Public Works and Parks Department that provides confidential, administrative, and clerical support to the Commissioner of Public Works/Highway Superintendent, five (5) Foreman, and who also provides general administrative assistance to approximately forty-five (45) Department employees.

Full performance knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal characteristics:  Thorough knowledge of general office practices, business level math and English; good knowledge of the organization and administration of a public office; good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality on all matters; excellent typing skills; proficient in MS Word and Excel and ability to learn other departmental software.

Candidates are required to pass a physical examination, drug test and background check.

The starting salary range wage for this position is between $48,000 and $52,000.

Job Posting: Recreation Attendant (Weekends)

The Town of Chili has an open position for a
Recreation Attendant-Community Center
(Part Time-Weekends)
Starting pay $14.00/hour

This is a part time position that will work 12-20 hours per week and must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, including morning and evening hours.

This position is with our Recreation Department and reports directly to the Director of Parks and Recreation. Position will serve as an attendant at the Community Center and be responsible for program and facility supervision, setting up/breaking down room use for programs and meetings, as well as maintaining equipment and supplies inventory. Additional responsibilities include front desk coverage, answering phones, and direct customer service.

Applicant must enjoy working with the public, have experience working with people of all ages, and have excellent customer service skills. Applicant must also be able to perform light manual labor including, but not limited to moving tables and chairs.

WHEREAS, New York State Town Law regulates additional reporting for elected and appointed officials who are members of the NYS retirement system; and

WHEREAS, a Record of Work Activities must be completed by those employees that are not paid hourly or participate in the Town’s time keeping system in order to either establish days/month or days/meeting; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the town of Chili hereby establishes the following standard work days for the listed elected and appointed officials and will report the following days worked to the New York State Local Employees’ Retirement System based on the record of activities maintained and submitted by these officials to the clerk of this body:
