Public Hearing and Special Meeting: Gates Fire District Budget

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2023 of the Gates Fire District of the County of Monroe and State of New York has been adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Gates Fire District.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at the Gates Fire District Station 1, 2355 Chili Avenue, Gates, New York on October 18, 2022, at 6:30pm a Special Meeting will be held immediately following the Public Hearing.

Pursuant to Town Law section 181, the Board of Fire Commissioners shall hold a public hearing to discuss the contents of the proposed budget. At such hearing, any person may be heard in favor or against the proposed budget as compiled, or for or against any item or items therein contained.

A copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Gates at the Gates Town Hall, 1605 Buffalo Road, Gates, New York and the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Chili at the Chili Town Hall, 3333 Chili Avenue, Chili, New York or at the Office of the Fire District Secretary at the Gates Fire District Administration Building, 2365 Chili Avenue, Gates, New York where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours of 10:00am too 3:30pm on weekdays and on the Fire District’s website, wwww.gatesfd.org.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 2023 Preliminary Budget of the Town of Chili and the 2023 Preliminary Special Districts Assessments have been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Chili, 3333 Chili Avenue, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during office hours.

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chili Town Board will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on October 12, 2022 at 7:00 PM to consider the following:

2023 Preliminary Budget
Proposed contracts for Ambulance District
Proposed contracts for Fire and Fire Protection Districts
Assessment Rolls for:

  • Sewer District (Chili Sewer Improvement Benefit Area #1)
  • Lighting Districts (Chili Consolidated Lighting District #1, Chili Industrial, Pumpkin Hill, Blueberry Hill, Parklands of Chili)
  • Sidewalk Districts (Park Place, Vistas at the Links)
  • Park District (Lexington)Consolidated Drainage District

SCHOOL TAX PAYMENT INFORMATION

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that I, Virginia Ignatowski, Town Clerk/Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Chili, have received the tax rolls and warrants for collection of school taxes for Town of Chili residents in the GATES CHILI, CHURCHVILLE-CHILI, WHEATLAND-CHILI and CALEDONIA-MUMFORD SCHOOL DISTRICTS, and I will receive payment of said school taxes at the CHILI TOWN HALL, 3333 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York, 14624, from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, beginning September 1, 2022.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

A. Full Payments

  1. September 1 – October 1, 2022 . . . No Interest Due . . . Pay TOTAL AMOUNT of tax bill to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes. (Since the 1st lands on a Saturday, this is extended to October 3rd).
  2. October 2- October 31, 2022 . . . ADD 2% Interest to TOTAL AMOUNT of tax bill and pay to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes. (This will start on October 4th this year).
  3. November 1 – November 18, 2022 …Add 5% interest to TOTAL AMOUNT of tax bill and pay to Monroe County Treasurer, PO Box 14420, Rochester, NY 14614.

B. Installment Payments
All school districts, except Caledonia-Mumford, accept installment payments. Please follow these instructions:

  1. First Installment – Pay TOTAL amount, including service charge, on stub #1 by September 15, 2022 to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes
  2. September 16 to September 20th – ADD 1% INTEREST TO TOTAL amount including service charge on stub #1 and pay to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes.
  3. Providing the first installment (see due dates above) has been made properly, installments for due dates October 15, 2022 and November 15, 2022 are payable by mail to the Monroe County Treasurer, PO Box 14420, Rochester, NY 14614.
  4. If the FIRST INSTALLMENT is NOT paid by September 20, 2022, the installment plan is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. The full amount of the school tax bill must be paid (See Instruction A above).

NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER NOVEMBER 18

School taxes unpaid after that date, plus accrued interest and penalties, will be re-levied into the 2023 Town and County tax bill.

C. Persons having checks returned to the Receiver marked insufficient funds or for any other reason will incur an additional $20.00 penalty.

Your careful adherence to the above School Tax Payment Information will help tremendously to make the school tax collection process run smoothly. Thank you.
