The Town of Chili will receive sealed proposals for a Veterans Memorial at the Chili Community Center located in Chili, New York. Bids will be received by the Town of Chili at the Chili Town Hall, 3333 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624 until 3:00 PM, prevailing local time on February 6, 2024, for the construction of the work outlined herein, in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by the Town of Chili.

The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the following place, date and time.

Date & Time: February 6, 2024 at 3:00 PM

Bids will be received in a sealed envelope on a Lump Sum basis.

The Bidding and Contract Documents regarding this project may be obtained at the place identified above from the Town Clerk’s office. A fee of $75.00 will be required for each set of Bidding and Contract documents furnished to prospective bidders. Checks for the Bidding Documents must be made payable to the Town of Chili Town Clerk.

Questions may be submitted to Mr. David Lindsay, Town of Chili Commissioner of Public Works, via email at dlindsay@townofchili.org until 5:00 p.m. (Noon) on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Responses to questions will be provided via e-mail or fax by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024.

An additional payment of $35.00 will be required for shipping and handling for Bidding Documents which are requested to be shipped by the Town of Chili or Lu Engineers. This charge is non-refundable and shall be paid with a separate check or money order made payable to the Town of Chili or Lu Engineers.

A full refund of deposit for up to two (2) copies of the Bidding Documents will be made to those submitting a bona fide bid, if the Documents are returned in good condition within thirty (30) days after award of the contract or rejection of the bid.

A refund of 50% of the deposit for one (1) copy of the Bidding Documents will be made for the return of all other Bidding Documents in good condition within thirty (30) days of award of the contract or rejection of the bid.

The work is generally described as follows:

Project Title: VETERANS MEMORIAL AT CHILI COMMUNITY CENTER

The work consists of the construction of a new Veterans Memorial with associated sidewalks and landscaping at the existing Chili Community Center located at 3237 Chili Ave, Rochester, N.Y. 14624.

The foregoing is a general outline of work only and shall not be construed as a complete description of the work to be performed under the contract.

Proposals must be made in writing on the forms furnished and shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS, as well as a signed copy of the Non-Collusive Bidding Certificate included in the proposal.

The Town of Chili is exempt under Section 1116 of the Tax Law and, therefore, no sales tax shall be included in the bid.

The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and labor and material bonds in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.

The Town of Chili reserves the right to consider bids for forty-five (45) days after the receipt before awarding any contract. The Town of Chili further reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept any Proposal or individual item or items, which they may deem to be most favorable to its best interest.

All NEW applications for real property tax exemptions such as: LIMITED INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS, ENHANCED STAR, VETERANS, AGRICULTURE, LIMITED INCOME DISABLED, CLERGY, BUSINESS, NOT-FOR-PROFIT, ETC. must be filed with the Assessor on or before Wednesday, March 1, 2024. The maximum income allowance for senior and disability for Town and School taxes is $37,400. The maximum income allowance for senior and disability for County taxes is $58,400. The 2024-25 income limit for Basic STAR exemption is $250,000 and Enhanced STAR exemption is $98,700.

All renewable exemption applications mailed in October 2023, to be returned by close of business on Wednesday, March 1, 2024. Current Basic and Enhanced STAR recipients who have registered with NYS for a STAR Credit Check need not apply.

2024 Town and County Taxes

Notice is Hereby Given that the tax warrant for the collection of the 2024 Town and County Taxes on property located in the Town of Chili has been received by Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes.

Virginia Ignatowski will receive taxes for the Town of Chili January 1, 2024, through May 31, 2024, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on holidays.

· Checks should be made payable to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver. Please mail to 3333 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624 or place in the Night Deposit box located to the left of the front doors. · Online payment options are available at www.townofchili.org and www.monroecounty.gov. The Town of Chili’s 3rd party vendor charges an additional 2.45% for credit cards or a flat fee of $3.95 for an e-check or visa debit. The County’s vendor charges a 2.75% for credit card transactions and a sliding scale charge ranging from $2.75 to $12.00 for e-checks.

Taxes received on or before February 10, 2024, will not incur interest. All taxes remaining unpaid after February 10, 2024, shall be deemed unpaid and shall be subject to the following penalties:

During the period of February 11 to the last day of February, 1.5%, 3% in March, 4.5% in April and 6% in May until return of unpaid taxes is made by the Receiver to the County Treasurer pursuant to the law.

Please note that whenever a due date lands on a weekend or holiday, it is extended to the following business day.

Take Further Notice that pursuant to the provisions of the law, the tax rolls of the Town of Chili will be returned to the Monroe County Treasury on the first day of June 2024.

Full-time position(s) with the Highway Department involves general equipment operation and maintenance, heavy and light duty tasks, working outside, requiring physical endurance.

Applicants myst meet the qualifications of the Monroe County Civil Service job classification, and must have a CDL driver’s license.  Candidates are required to pass a physical examination and drug test.

The salary range for this position is $24.27 to $29.18 per hour.
