The Town of Chili has an open position for an Assessment Clerk.
The position is full-time (35 hrs/week) and requires a Civil Service Exam.
Salary Range: $33,512 – $40,852

Applicant should have the following experience;

This is a professional position involving responsibility for maintaining & updating tax roll (Assessment Roll & Levy Module Information). Provides information to other departments and the general public regarding assessments, taxes and procedures. Receives, computes, enters, lists and files various approved applications for real property tax exemptions. Makes changes on the assessment cards, general tax and district roll; may make corrections on tax map when necessary. Assists in publishing and mailing of notices for assessment increases. Assists the Assessor in various reports and other duties as required.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assessor.

Should be knowledgeable with Microsoft office, strong math skills and have excellent customer service skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

(A) Four (4) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in an occupation involving bookkeeping, financial record keeping, assessment or property tax record keeping; OR,

(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree or the completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours, plus two (2) years of experience as outlined in (A); OR,

(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

2019 Town and County Taxes

Notice is Hereby Given that the tax warrant for the collection of the 2019 Town and County Taxes on property located in the Town of Chili has been received by Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes.

Virginia Ignatowski will receive taxes for the Town of Chili at the Chili Town Tax Office, 3333 Chili Avenue, Rochester, NY 14624, beginning December 28, 2018 through May 31, 2019 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Taxes received on or before February 10, 2019 will not incur interest. All taxes remaining unpaid after February 10, 2019 shall be deemed unpaid and shall be subject to the following penalties:

During the period of February 11 to the last day of February, one and a half percent (1.5%) and additional one and one half percent (1.5%) for each month thereafter until return of unpaid taxes is made by the Receiver to the County Treasurer pursuant to the law.

Take Further Notice that pursuant to the provisions of the law, the tax rolls of the Town of Chili will be returned to the Monroe County Treasury on the first day of June 2019.

If your Taxes are not paid through your mortgage company and you do not receive a tax bill by January 9th, please contact the Town of Chili Tax Office at 889-6129.

The Town of Chili Recreation Department is looking for qualified applicants to work part-time at our Before and After School Program (SAFE). Hired individuals will perform the following job responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of children
• Play and engage in activities with children
• Plan and lead Activities
• Follow directions of:
1) Program Coordinator
2) Program Directors
• Take initiative
• Be creative
• Interact with participant caretakers upon child pick-up
• Create a positive environment for participants, parents and other staff
• Must be at least a High School Junior to apply

Dates: During the School Year
Hours: 7:00-9:00 am (Before Care)
2:30-6:00 pm (After Care)
