Job Title/Group:  Motor Equipment Operator (MEO I / Pay Group 5)

A promotional opportunity is being considered for the reference position.  Considerations for promotion shall include such factors as ability, attitude, effort, attendance, and overtime participation.

Applicants must possess a valid Class 1 (Class A) New York State Driver’s License.  Applicants must also have the ability to operate and maintain diesel and gas-powered heavy duty equipment, be able to perform manual labor, and have mechanical aptitude.

2023 Town and County Taxes

Notice is Hereby Given that the tax warrant for the collection of the 2023 Town and County Taxes on property located in the Town of Chili has been received by Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes.

Virginia Ignatowski will receive taxes for the Town of Chili January 1, 2023 through May 31, 2023, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on holidays.

  • Checks should be made payable to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver. Please mail to 3333 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624 or place in the Night Deposit box located to the left of the front doors.
  • Online payment options are available at www.townofchili.org and www.monroecounty.gov. The Town of Chili’s 3rd party vendor charges an additional 2.45% for credit cards or a flat fee of $3.95 for an e-check or visa debit. The County’s vendor charges an additional 2.75% for credit card transactions.

Taxes received on or before February 10, 2023 will not incur interest. All taxes remaining unpaid after February 10, 2023 shall be deemed unpaid and shall be subject to the following penalties:

During the period of February 11 to the last day of February, 1.5% , 3% in March, 4.5% in April and 6% in May until return of unpaid taxes is made by the Receiver to the County Treasurer pursuant to the law.

Take Further Notice that pursuant to the provisions of the law, the tax rolls of the Town of Chili will be returned to the Monroe County Treasury on the first day of June 2023.

If your Taxes are not paid through your mortgage company and you do not receive a tax bill by January 9th, please contact the Town of Chili Tax Office at 889-6129.

Full-time position(s) with the Highway Department involves general equipment operation and maintenance, general Laborer’s work, heavy and light duty tasks, mainly working outside, requiring physical endurance.

Applicants must meet the qualifications of the Monroe County Civil Service job classification, and must have a CDL driver’s license. Candidates are required to pass a physical examination and drug test.

The salary range for this position is $21.03 to $25.24 per hour.
